OUR STORY

Fairleigh Dance Project is an award-winning student-run social issues dance company at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Campus in Madison, New Jersey.

Founded in the Spring of 2017 by Kaitlyn Esposito and Sam Gee, FDP has grown from ten dancers to over fifty dancers. FDU students of any major and of any level of dance experience are welcome to join. FDP members are then able to learn about dance and explore their artistry through taking class, choreographing, and performing.

Throughout each semester, FDP performs at various campus events such as football games, charity events, and art showcases. At the end of each semester, FDP holds a showcase to display student choreographed pieces. Half of the proceeds from each showcase is donated to a local beneficiary.

FDP mainly teaches and choreographs in contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, and hip-hop genres, but we welcome dancers to bring their own style and individual voice to their choreography. In the past, FDP has invited guest artists, including Anthony Zas from the Broadway Tour of Newsies and Cats, to teach Master Classes.
